There are lots of fun running and walking events taking place throughout Scotlandall year and we want you to take part in any one of them to raise valuable funds for the Trust.

There is an event out there to suit everyone whether it's a 5K, 10K or a full marathon. If you have your own place or would like to apply for one of ours, we would love to hear from you.

We will offer you the support and encouragement you’ll need to carry you along to the finish line.

Events to consider

Here are just some of the events taking place throughout Scotland:

Ignis Asset Management Women's 10K
Sunday 9th May, 2010 - Bellahouston Park, Glasgow

The Ignis Asset Management Women's 10K (formerly Resolution Asset Management) is back and it's bigger and better than ever. The route, which finishes in Bellahouston Park on the South side of Glasgow, passes through the Maxwell Park and Pollok Park areas making it one of the most scenic road races in the UK.

Last year over 12,500 women entered the race and enjoyed an unforgettable experience. Whether you are a seasoned runner or running for the first time, the well thought out route, atmosphere and outstanding spectator support never fail to make this one of the most enjoyable and rewarding races to participate in.

Each venue has been carefully selected. They all take place exclusively within scenic parks that are both safe and pleasant running environments.

Edinburgh Marathon

The Edinburgh Marathon is the second largest full marathon in the UK, and incorporates some of the most famous landmarks of Scotland's capital city.

The route starts in the city centre taking in Holyrood Park, Leith Links and Portobello Promenade, it will then go through East Lothian before a grandstand finish in Musselburgh Racecourse.

We still have some places left for the Edinburgh Marathon, but if you have your own place on the marathon we would love you to fundraise for us!!

10K for Men
Sunday 20th June, 2010 - Bellahouston Park

The 10K for Men is organised by Men's Health Forum Scotland (MHFS). It is held every year on the last day of National Men's Health Week, which is also Fathers Day.

Great Scottish Run Half Marathon & 10K
Sunday 5th September, 2010 - Glasgow

The Great Scottish Run is Scotland's largest mass participation event attracting a record-breaking 20,868 runners in 2009.

2010 is going to be even bigger and better with route changes to make the course even faster and new features to keep every type of runner interested.

Loch Ness Marathon(5K & 10K routes also available)

A Monster Race...running alongside the shores of the world's most famous loch. Recognised as one of the UK's leading marathons, the Baxters' Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route through stunning Highland scenery, along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, and then crosses the River Ness to finish in Inverness Queens Park Stadium.

We still have some places left for the Loch Ness Marathon, but if you have your own place on the marathon we would love you to fundraise for us!!
