Improving babies chances of survival matters
Improving bereavement support matters
Professionals from many agencies and disciplines meeting together with bereaved family members to learn from each other is an amazing platform to improve things.
Professionals from different backgrounds learn so much from one another. This can reduce the number of babies dying.
Families want to hear from experts what is happening in research to understand and prevent baby deaths.
Professionals want to hear from family members how they can improve their response when a baby dies.
We hope you want to get involved!
SCDT Family Day - Saturday 22nd April 2017 (11.00am - 4.00pm)
31 March 2017
For our family day this year we have teamed up with Green Aspirations and are taking fun outdoors for you to go wild in the woods together!
On this day, wild adventures, getting mucky and learning new skills will be the order of the day. Learn how to build dens in the woods, make bows and arrows and cook over the campfire and take part in other bush craft activities.
Set in beautiful woodland in the Stirlingshire countryside, just outside of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the team will provide a day of activities for everyone aged from pre-school to 99! Just be prepared to get involved.
We know that children love to play and have adventures outdoors come wind, rain or shine so come prepared but don’t worry there will be various shelters to protect from the elements if it is not a glorious spring day!
Please contact the office for more information and book by Monday 3rd April, as places will unfortunately be limited.

Everyone is welcome to come along – this includes parents, siblings, grandparents, wider family members, friends, health professionals and anyone else affected by the death of a baby or young child. Someone from the Trust will also be attending this service.

Baby Loss Awareness Week, takes place annually from 9 to 15 October 2016
01 October 2016
Pregnancy and baby loss affects thousands of families each year across the UK. The death of a baby is a tragedy that can happen to anyone, at any time. It can be devastating, not only for parents, but also their families and their friends and can have long-term lasting effects. The week is an opportunity for them to acknowledge and remember their precious babies and for people to talk openly about the subject of and raise awareness of pregnancy, baby and infant loss.
Twenty-four charities have joined together to mark the week, which culminates with the international Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on Saturday 15 October. Across the world, people are invited to take part in the global ‘Wave of Light’ (#waveoflight) at 7pm local time to remember all the babies that have died during pregnancy, at, during or after birth by lighting a candle and leaving it burning for an hour. Images of the burning candles are shared on social media using the hashtag #waveoflight.
Among other activities, throughout the week bereaved parents and their families will be sharing examples of something that someone said or did that helped them after their loss. It is hoped that this will inspire others and bring the issue out into the open. People are invited to wear a Baby Loss pin, available from our shop here….
