Babies don’t need the room to be very warm. The ideal room temperature is 16-20°C. You
can now get room thermometers from the Scottish Cot Death Trust for a donation of £3.00 to help keep an eye on room temperature. To order yours now, visit our shop.
To check if a baby is too hot, feel the back of its neck or tummy, and if these areas feel too hot you should remove some bedding. Don’t worry if the hands or feet feel cool as this is normal.
Keep the room well ventilated.
