When a healthy baby dies suddenly and unexpectedly, the impact is both devastating and lifelong. It is our purpose to ensure that those affected by cot death will receive the support they need for as long as they need it. To do that, we are dependent on individuals and organisations, from whom we get almost all of our funding.
Most of this is raised through voluntary donations and a range of fundraising activities, together with support from corporates and charitable trusts. A total of 86% of our income comes directly from the wider public making donations or supporting us through fundraising events. A further 5.7% comes from charitable trusts and 8.3% from investments and bank interest. The Scottish Government provide approximately 2% of our income through an annual grant of £7000.
